Pet food normally comes in paper bags that are lined
with plastic and they are REALLY WELL SEALED.
THE PROBLEM IS when we get them home and open them up. Then the
original bag is no longer air tight.
Even if you try to keep the bag tightly closed, once opened, the pet food
inside will start to BECOME STALE.
To get around this you need to keep your pet's food in an airtight plastic
container.

The reason for this is because oils from the food gets into the plastic and becomes RANCID. Therefore CONTAMINATING the next batch of food that you put inside.
Also be sure to check the EXPIRATION date before you purchase pet food.
Try to buy the freshest bag possible.
