To find out more about these or other animals in need of good homes, call the Dothan Animal Shelter at 615-4620. Ask about sponsorships, foster care, volunteer opportunities and the shelter’s ongoing wish list.

For information on how to be a sponsor, volunteer or donate items, call Save-A-Pet at 796-7727. The organization is in need of donations of newspapers for lining cages. Newspapers can be delivered to PetSmart on Saturdays when Save-A-Pet is there with dogs and puppies up for adoption or left in the adoption center at other times. Save-A-Pet needs foster homes since it is kitten and puppy season. Call Save-A-Pet for more information about fostering animals.

Save-A-Pet rescues cats and kittens from the Dothan Animal Shelter, has them spayed or neutered and then places them up for adoption at PetSmart in Dothan. Adoption fee is $45, and the cats are up to date on vaccinations.

Last chance pets

Gino is a silly guy who snorts when he is happy. He loves people and is very affectionate. He is not a loud dog, other than his snorting. Please take him home and make him part of your family. This will be his last chance to find a home.

Levi is a big boy who is ready to get out of the shelter. He has handsome buff and white fur that is medium-long, and he is about 3 years old. He is very sweet and gentle and would be a wonderful companion. This is his last week to find a home.

Dogs

Ace is a hound-lab mix who doesn’t like being in a cage. He does well with everyone, even other dogs. He would love a home with a big yard for him to run and play.

Dutchess is a long-haired dachshund mix who would be a wonderful lap baby for someone who needs companionship. She is only about a year old and already homeless.

Tamera is a very sweet hound mix who loves kids, other dogs and being told how pretty she is. She has had puppies, but they have all found homes.

Twitch is a 2-year-old Chihuahua who is a lap-aholic. He loves people and would be a perfect companion dog to anyone.

Cats

Caesar is a Maine coon mix guy who has a little mew like a kitten. He does not like being in a cage and would rather be snuggled on your lap.

Coco is a chocolate point Siamese girl who has pretty thick fur. She is an older kitty who just wants a warm home and a sunny window.

Jade is a beautiful tabby with ticked fur. She is just under a year old and likes to rub all over you. She has a quirky habit of growling to talk, but is not mean at all.

Penelope is a beautiful medium-haired calico who is gentle and sweet. She is a little camera shy, but loves to be petted and talked to.
